Friday Favorites no.14

Hello friends,

This week has been a gloomy week. And to be honest, I didn't do much besides show up to my day job and browse the internet. Though, that does make for a good Friday Favorites post. There's also been many hours logged on watching Netflix, but we'll talk more about that next week. We'll just call it research for blogging...yea that's totally what it is.

With all that down time, I've had multiple opportunities to scour the internet for treasures. This week's post is very whimsical and exactly what a grey week like this one needs. This time of year, I always tend to gravitate towards more vibrant colors. Pittsburgh skies are always so grey during the winter, and days can kind of run together. Bringing color into my world helps fight the winter blues. Hopefully, this list of cute, weird, and definitely colorful list brightens up your day too!

This amazing man that matches his makeup to his snacks. I die.

This yummy recipe for vegan sheppard's pie has got me wanting to stay in and be all domestic.

Friday Favorites no. 12

Hello friends,

This week it snowed in Pittsburgh. It's our first real snow this year, and even though it wasn't much- it was beautiful! The snow has got me in a wintry mood and very excited to layer on my clothes and wear socks for a change.  This week has been filled with comfy socks, lots of TV, and day dreaming. I've been catching up on my favorite shows on Netflix and Hulu; like Difficult People, You're the Worst, New Girl, Maron, and I finally finished Gilmore Girls. Bryan and I have also been working on redecorating and organizing our bedroom and bathroom. Target's home section has become my favorite place! Once everything is done, I'll do a post on the whole thing. I've also been dreaming about spring and getting really exciting about hiking and being outdoors. There's been a good bit of goal planning too. Here's a few of my goals so far :

  • staying more organized: with life in general, blogging, and at home.
  • blogging more: and being consistent with my blog schedule, and to bring you guys better content.
  • saving money: so we can finally move out.
  • keeping the shop stocked: and producing more items in a timely fashion.
  • eat better: making healthier choices, and eating better portions.
  • take more photos: being consistent and taking photos every day.

I've also been trying to be more choosy when it comes to the purchases I make, especially when it comes to clothing. Over the years, I've been trying to define my style more and steer it into a more "mature" look....instead of looking like I'm 17 still. The past few times I've bought something, I try and make it a purchase I can live with for a long time, and something that's going to last-something I can see myself wearing a lot. I'm also trying to buy more from small businesses...you know, practice what I preach! It's so important to support small businesses, and to help out your community. The big companies have enough money. Why not spend your money where it'll actually do some good?!

What have you guys been up to this week? Have you been thinking about your goals since the start of the new year? Let me know down in the comments!!

How snuggly does this little cabin look?

This photo. Any one want to go for a hike with me?

This fabric is amazing. That dress is so playful and I waaaaaaaant it!

This fireplace is everything. I wish I could sit in front of it all day and draw.

These socks are just adorable, perfect for lounging around the house.

I would love tosee this hang in our house.

This shirt is so very excellent!

I can't wait for my hair to get a bit longer so I can start doing more cute braids- like this one!

This little embroidery makes me want to stitch til my fingers bleed. It's so cute- mine are never this cute!

Speaking of snuggly....this slippers!!

This summer will consist of hiking, feather gathering, and the finding of cool sticks.

I love this family of kitties. Mommy and daddy looking down on their babies just melts my heart.

These may be out of this week's theme, but how good do these popsicles look?! Should we make some?

This photo makes me miss the warmth and walking along the river after in rains. Bring on spring, already!!

This gorgeous mustard yellow pillow is too cute. Is it making anyone else itch for a vacation?! Just me? Ok...

Friday Favorites no. 10

this radical photo

Hello friends,

It's Friday again! That means today I've got a bunch more weird internet shit to share with you! I really have been spending a lot of time surfing the interwebs this week after getting back from mine and Bry's little weekend getaway road trip thingy. The thing is; there's no fucking internet reception down in West Virginia! My phone was basically useless other than as a camera, which I didn't need. I had brought my good camera with us for the trip. So I let the battery on my phone die, and didn't touch it for 3 days. Since we got back on Sunday, we've been inseparable; my phone, the internet, and I.  So, get ready for some weird internet stuff this week. Like, the random 'I don't really know where this came from but I really liked the photo' photo above!

This week's list is very bright, and pastel. I was seeing a lot of green over the weekend, and I think I needed some pink and lavenders in my life. Everything I've been looking up/ drawing has been really colorful and very bright lately. I think I'm moving away from the super natural color pallets to a brighter, more pastel pallet. There's probably something to say about that. I think I'm trying to regain some sort of awesomeness that I feel like I'm losing as I push 30, and am getting older.....adulting...becoming not cool. But, that's a whole other can of sad, sad worms that we don't need to open up right now.

Anyways, let's focus on the fun stuff, and shove away our emotions with pretty, happy colors! Bry and I visited The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum this weekend, and one of the reoccurring themes to improve their patients' moods where bright, happy, pastel colors. Supposedly, it works. We'll see how that goes.

This week since we've been back has been full of sneezing (allergies), being all kinds of sad about not being on the road still, and getting back to the normal routine. Not going to lie, coming back home after being on vacation for a few days is one of the worst feelings in the world. Bryan and I have been moping around the house since we've been back. Though, I'm sure by next week, we'll get our groove back! After he comes home this week after his block shift we plan on doing a major overhaul on our room. Gettin' back into that real life swing of things.

What are you guys up to this week?
