threads & textiles : american horror

Hello Friends,

I'm happy to announce, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things around here at Happiness. I've finally opened up my etsy shoppe, I'm working on brand new content for the blog, and I'm working on some collaborations!

Clothes: Today's #OOTD is inspired by American Horror Story: Asylum. Bryan and I have been feverishly binge watching the first two seasons. No spoilers, please! Hahah!

But, part of me has always been attracted to Catholicism, but not for the religion. It was always the mystery, and dark side of the church that drew me in. I like things that are a little dark, the struggle between good and evil has always intrigued me. So this look is dedicated to that thought process. Satan would most certainly be proud of this stupidly cute mini skirt from Wet Seal. Hahah!

The first few photos are from work this morning, going from day to night/afternoon is fairly simple with just a few accessory changes. Take this hat for example, and the removal of the sweater adds a bit of skin to the look, adding some much needed sexiness. lol! It was still a little bit chilly today, so the boots and tights were mostly definitely necessary.

Makeup: I didn't have much time this morning before work to play with my makeup as much as I would have liked. So, I decided to go for a more neutral look with peachy undertones in the cheeks and eye shadow. I love a taupe lip paired with peachy neutrals. Lately, I've been gravitating towards very bland, monochromatic looks. I've been dreaming up more dramatic, and colorful looks...though those types of makeups are rather out of my comfort zone. It'll be quite the journey, nevertheless. And, I'm rather happy to be sharing it with you amazing folks out there in internet land.

What do you think of this outfit? What has you stepping out of your comfort zone?

Let's chat!

xo.
