getting back into the groove

Hello friends, 

Well, I may as well start this off by being as honest as I possibly can.....this summer fucking sucked. That's why things got held off and this blog and the rest of my life kind of got put on hold. This seems to happen every now and again in my life, but this time I must say, I have dealt with all the bull shit much better than I have in the past. I may have not had much of a presence online or did....anything.....in my shop.....but, I did a shit ton of art! Then the fall came, and Phantom Fright Nights came and whooped our butts. It was a ton of fun and we really honed our acting skills and really developed some of our characters into a really good place! We're evening thinking of writing a full Hobo show for next year....possibly. 

But back to what we were talking about....

Despite being super sick, enduring a death in the family, and muddling through a difficult job I really have enjoyed the time away and the lack of pressure that this little break in 'work' has given me. It's given me the moment or so to figure out exactly what I want to do with my brand and what I plan to create. The past few years, I just feel like I've been ambling around trying to figure out who I am again and what it is that I'm trying to say. The notion of 'getting back to my roots' has been a driving force into this rebrand.
By that I mean, getting back to who I am when I'm being my purest self and not putting on a 'face' to get by....life has been hard folks. But, that's the life of an artiste, huh?! *insert pretentious laugh here* In all seriousness though, the 'real holly' is weird, colorful and unafraid to be heard. Trying to get back to her has been an up hill battle, but the more I explore my own thoughts and stop listening to what other people think I should be, it's all becoming clearer. 

That's why I've been getting back into the groove....

I'm back bitch!! And, I'm back with a clearer vision and now I can see my path! It's the path that's always been written for me, I just couldn't see it for a while. Yet here I am, back to sitting down at my desk with that brush in my hand. The path is clear and coated with a wicked layer of psychedelic paint....

Prepare yourselves for some weird art shit,people!

Sunday Shop Update

Hello friends, 

This gorgeous wooden piece has been hand painted with texture flowers and leaves that you can really feel! Hang this inspiration quote in your home for an extra little pick-me-up for when life gets a little stressful. 

"Bloom where you are planted" is one of my favorite quotes when I'm feeling like life is being extra rough on me. It's a little reminder that home is where we can grown and blossom!

Sunday Shop Update

Hello friends, 

Today, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite little buddies that are in the shop now. I made these 3 little sisters 2 summers ago, and some how these tiny cuties are still available! The tallest one is only about 1 1/2" tall and the smallest is about a 1/2" short. You can see how teensy they are in the bottom photo, a penny is wider than the eldest sisters base. They're looking for their forever home. Is it with you?

Sunday Shop Update // Coming Soon

Hello friends, 

This week's Sunday Shop Update is a bit different than previous weeks. This week, instead of letting you folks know about something that's already in the shop, I wanted to talk about the things that WILL be in the shop in the coming weeks! I've been tirelessly working on the cutest little dolls for the shop. There's been a huge influx of handmade dolls lately, the internet is just a buzz with all these little cuties. But, mine are a bit different than all the other ones you'll see. Most dolls are being pumped out with incredible speed, and most shops are out there creating armies of little babes. But, Happinessbrand Buddies are all sewn by hand with as much detail in them as I can possibly muster. Every stand of hair is sewn on individually for a more realistic look, and their dresses and outfits are made with great care and attention to detail. Their little shoes are all stitched up by hand too! Every little buddy is unique. No two buddy's bodies are the same, just as none of our bodies are just the same. They all have their own individual personalities and are special in their own ways. 

I'm so excited to share these with you and as soon as the first batch is completed they'll be listed in the shop. I'm hoping to get them up by the end of this month! Once they're all finished, there'll be 5 new buddies that will be looking for forever homes. So stay tuned!!!

Sunday Shop Update

Hello friends, 

I'm here with another Sunday Shop Update for you. I know most of you know that I draw a lot, make a ton of jewelry, and have even dabbled in the flower crown making business. But did you know I sew clothes on that rare occasion too? Well, this week I want to share with you one of my favorite pieces that is up in the shop currently. This shabby chic duster is a one of a kind piece and fits up to an extra large/ size 16. I'm generally a large to extra large, and this fits me mostly well. It's a bit tight on my around the chest, so it should fit up to a 36" bust rather well. Again, this is a one of a kind piece made with vintage fabrics and can not be reproduced again exactly. Sunday Shop Update

This week for Sunday Shop Update I figured I'd bring you a lovely bracelet stack that just reminds me of the sunshine....and we could always use a little more sunshine! This stack features 6 individual bracelets that all fall somewhere around the yellow block of the color wheel. This stack is also a one of a kind and is pretty cheap, only $12!! Sunday Shop Update

Hello friends,

It's that time again, another weekly shop update. I haven't been able to make time to put new products up in the shop, but there's still a lot of great stuff available! As most of you know, I have a deep seeded love of flowers and all things floral. Summer before last, I started making flower crowns, and since then I have made several gorgeous crowns that I'm very proud of. This one, The Belle, is probably in my top 3 favorites that I've ever made. Not going to lie, I have worn this crown out before...and have gotten sooooooooo many compliments on it. It's huge. It's bright. It's an attention grabber! So take a second to sneak a peek at all the gorgeous crowns up in the shop now, before some one else snatches them up!!!

Shop Update

Hello friends, 

If you follow me on any social media, you have heard me barking about my recent shop update for about a week now. I recently listed 8 brand new, one of a kind pieces; that I'm seriously proud of! Sewing has come back into my life in a huge way. I'm finally feeling confident enough in my sewing skills to share them with everyone else. The pieces listed today are some of my all time favorites, and I really hope someone gives them a good home. Most pieces are size medium/large, with best fit being around a size 14/15 US woman's.  Eventually, I'll be making more in a variety of sizes, but this is just the first batch!
